I had the pleasure of designing and making a piece for a client to give to his wife for their 15th wedding anniversary. I am such the romantic so I love doing these things. During the research stage, I discovered that topaz is the gemstone designated for this particular anniversary. I have a wonderful colleague, Reno Carollo who has an endless collection of raw gemstone material. He had some topaz and suggested I cut it myself. Well, I am well trained but had never taken lapidary. Reno was a great teacher and below is the resulting piece. I enjoyed doing it so much that I can't wait to do it again! (this was also the last piece created at the old studio)

Here at East End Applied Arts, not only do we offer gift certificates and @jewerly bar sessions; there is alot more! Did you know that Kim is available for private tuition for jewelry making using metal fabrication? She is also available to re-string pearls or repair jewelry. Kim is also qualified to take you through the design process of producing a piece or a collection. Need inspiration or instruction in the jewelry arts, Kim is at your service!

WE HAVE MOVED!
The studio is now located at 576 Hanover Way, Ste. B (a.k.a. "our studio") Aurora, 80010, and is also home to artist Phyllis Rider. The space is more suitable for holding classes such as @jewelry bar and other workshops I hope to do in the future. There is a parking lot as well as off street parking, air conditioning and a new Pho restaurant nearby. Click here for a map. The phone number, website, hours and everything else will stay the same. I look forward to seeing you soon and promise to let you know more information as soon as possible about my 'grand opening'. See you soon!!!

@jewelry bar, you can make a brand new piece of jewelry or remake, reuse, recycle pieces you have. Kim will be happy to help with your design challenge!

@Jewelry bar requires no experience and works like this: from $10/per item you will receive the assistance of Kim Harrell to make necklaces, bracelets or earrings. You are welcome to bring your own beads and tools but everything is here for you. Just bring your imagination and nothing else!
The prices are as follows: $10: includes Kim's help only; you provide what you need but may still purchase beads and beading materials and use any tools available; the fee is per item you make.
$15: includes Kim's help and one pair of sterling silver earrings hooks made by Kim and any additional materials needed to make your earrings except the beads.
$20: includes Kim's help and one sterling silver t-bar clasp made by Kim suitable for a necklace or bracelet.
High quality beads - glass, ceramic, semi-precious ,etc. are always available for sale or you can bring your own.

Can't come to the studio on Saturday but want to play?? Contact Kim for rates for @parties (including parties for kids age 10+) and @work jewelry bar sessions.
