Hi All!
Since Josh has been focusing on writing and recording his next studio CD, there hasn't been much to report lately, so
these updates have been few and far between! I did want to point out a few pieces of news since the last update went
out, especially for those of you who don't visit Josh's message boards:
"Believe" Wins the Grammy!
Songwriters Glen Ballard and Alan Silvestri were recently awarded
the Grammy for "Believe," the song recorded by Josh for "The Polar Express," in the category of "Best Song Written For
Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media." While the award did not technically go to Josh himself, Ballard wrote
the song with Josh's voice specifically in mind, and it was Josh's performance which helped give the song life and
brought it to the attention of the public, as well as the Grammy voters. The song had previously been nominated for an
Academy Award and a World Soundtrack Award.
Josh Performs at the Met
Josh made a surprise appearance on January 20th at the
Metropolitan Opera House in NYC, joining Barbara Cook in her debut solo performance there. Josh performed "Not
While I'm Around" and a duet of "Move On" (both by Stephen Sondheim) with Cook. Josh's performance was welcomed
with rave reviews by both professional reviewers and the Broadway fan community. A recording, titled Barbara
Cook and Friends, is set to be released on April 18th by DRG Records. Purchasing information is not yet
available, but will be added to the TJGG Discography page as soon as it becomes available.
Josh Performs at Grammy Jam
On December 10th, Josh joined several other great artists in a
tribute to Stevie Wonder benefitting the Entertainment Industry Foundation's National Arts Education Initiative. Josh
performed Wonder's song, "They Won't Go When I Go." Lyrics for this song have been added to the Lyrics page on the
TJGG site.

that he would be travelling to Europe and South Africa to work on new songs in January, and then continuing to work on
recordings from February through April, hoping for an early- to mid-summer release. Fans of the French group "Deep
Forest" (with whom Josh wrote "Never Let Go" and "Remember When It Rained" on Closer) have reported that
