Hi ,

This summer has been great for me so far. I'm excited to tell you all about it!

Right now, it's high season on the high seas. I am in the enviable position of being on board a different cruise ship almost every week! Disney Cruise Line, HAL, NCL and Royal Caribbean Cruises – all of them cream of the cruising crop. The theaters on board are huge! I usually perform just one night per cruise, because all 3,000 passengers can all see the show in my two evening performances. It truly is amazing. During the first half of last month, I had the great opportunity to headline at New England’s premier theme park Canobie Lake Park. Performing 3 shows a day, I did more shows in those 2 weeks than I did all summer on board ships!

My 30th birthday – On August 9th, I turned 30 years old. Many people asked me how I felt about that. It was a wonderful day. I was at home and I got to celebrate with many of my friends, see photo below!

I have been juggling for almost 18 years now, and I still enjoy practicing a few hours a day. Click here to see a video clip of a new trick that I am very proud of. It’s with nothing less than 8 (!!) juggling clubs: 7 in the air and one kept in balance on my forehead. Check out this video to see the perfect ending: that’s not even a single club ending up on the floor! #bragging #Ihopeit'stherightclip #notshowingthetimesImessedup

Headlining at New England's premier theme park, Canobie Lake Park

Since I got my work visa for the USA about two years ago, I am now spending more and more time in this great country. When I was performing at the comedy and variety festival in Seattle earlier this year, Simon Will Productions from Las Vegas booked me to appear at New England's premier amusement park Canobie Lake Park, near Boston. From July 2-15, I headlined on the Midway Stage with a 25-minute version of my family-friendly comedy juggling act, "Gravity is Over-Rated", performing 3 times per day.

Other shows at the park were the One Direction tribute show 1DT, Extreme Illusions and Escapes, Vaudeville Comedy Magic and a Tribute to Michael Jackson.

I would like to thank Matt and Janell at Simon Will Productions, production manager Chuck and all my colleagues at Canobie Lake Park. It was a great time, although I never found Obi-Wan.

Shows on board Disney Cruise Line

Immediately after my last show at Canobie Lake Park was over, I had to rush to Boston for an overnight "red-eye" flight back to Europe. I was joining a spectacular floating theme park: Disney Cruise Line – the happiest place at sea. I feel fortunate to be part of the entertainment on board Disney for a third year in a row. In the Phantoms Show Lounge, I perform regularly with my two different half hours shows: a family-friendly show and an 18+ version. On the left, you can see a photo of one of my performances for Disney.

Television

I would like to share 2 new TV segments with you. I worked on them earlier, but they have just now been released. In May, the largest commercial TV station in Belgium produced a circus special, VTM Kzoom Circus. The Belgian magician Rafael, one of the main characters in the program, hired me to do a short juggling act to music. It was produced for the children's channel of VTM.

I was interviewed last year for the business channel RTL7 (national TV in my home country, The Netherlands) They wanted to know how I have built a business around juggling. I shared my thoughts about the mindset I use to approach both the on and off-stage part of my business. This interview has finally been released, and you can see it here. (To get the most out of it, it helps to know Dutch!)

Last week, I found myself again in the studios of VTM to film for a pilot episode of a new program. I will let you know more about it if this program sees the light of day and goes into production!

New show in 2016: Gravity is Over-Rated

Last year, I performed my new show "Gravity is Over-Rated" for the first time, when I headlined at the Comedy Theater in Amsterdam. After the recent two great weeks at Canobie Lake Park in Boston, I really started to really believe in the concept of this show. I'm now committed to making it bigger and better, transforming it into the production show I want it to be. I will be getting the name trademarked, having a custom set built, adding new routines and having new comedy material written for me. On the upper left, you can find the logo for the new show, designed by Stefan Dragos.

My goal is to start performing this show at theme parks, performing art centers and, I hope, as a resident show on board a cruise ship next year.

At the moment I am in Europe, fulfilling all the cruise engagements. In November, I will be back in Las Vegas, ready to take on the world, one juggling trick at a time!

Best,

Niels Duinker
