Reich's Mallet Quartet on Nonesuch
On September 6th, Nonesuch Records is releasing So Percussion's recording of Steve Reich's Mallet Quartet (written in 2009 for So and 3 other groups), along with the Kronos Quartet performing WTC 9/11, his tenth-anniversary reflections on the September 11 attacks.
The release also features Steve Reich and Musicians in Dance Patterns.
We are honored that our live video performance of Mallet Quartet is featured on this release as a DVD! Originally produced as a podcast for the Vic Firth company, the video can currently be seen on our Youtube channel.
The So Percussion Creation Initiative
The So Percussion Creation Initiative is a funding program newly created in 2011 to support and foster our deeply collaborative process with composers and other artists, as well as the creative work of So Percussion.

We are extremely excited to announce our first Emerging Composer Project:
new pieces from two of the most distinctive voices of the young generation, Tristan Perich and Daniel Wohl.
We are seeking support to commission innovative and mind-bending new works from them.
Please take a moment to visit the project page linked above. You can listen to some of Daniel and Tristan's music, read more about the Initiative, and consider giving a tax-deductible donation.
