FAMILY BOAT BUILDING A BIG HIT!
|
Six great teams participated over Father’s Day Weekend building Bevin’s skiffs that they could take home after a great weekend of learning, camaraderie and fun. Thanks to the support of the Pilots’ Association for the Bay & River Delaware, JD’s Filling Station, West Marine, Chesapeake Lumber, University of Delaware College of Earth, Ocean and Environment and Dogfish Head, the program was a terrific success. On Sunday afternoon, all the boats were slipped into the water at the Canalfront Park and the groups had a fun time rowing around the Canal Yacht Basin in their seaworthy craft.
Volunteer leaders Rick Hoenen, Alex Sydnor and Bob Hyberg were joined by Steve Rogers, Bob Kotowski, Harvey Smith, Jim Baker, Pete Hansot, Al Klineberger, Jim Gent, Jim McElvoy, Larry Bost, Conrad Cordes and John McGovern in planning and implementing the program since this past November.
We plan on holding this program in 2011 so please look for forthcoming registration information.
