Knitting Peace Update and Gratitude...
As many of you know, I am the founder of a social enterprise called Knitting Peace, which provides opportunities for poverty alleviation and empowerment to incarcerated women and their children, in Bolivia. The organization was launched less than a year ago, and started off as a school project while I pursued a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica.

I feel honored to share with you the work and growth we have accomplished during this time. Our team currently consists of 22 knitters, whom I have watched blossom and open up, in the span of time we have worked together, which generally runs from 4-8 consecutive weeks at a time. During my visits to the jail, I am greeted with enthusiasm and a deep sisterly bond I have rarely felt in my life.
We work together side by side everyday during my visits to Bolivia, making sure the work being knit is of high quality.

The women are proud to present their best work, and get excited when a new design and new challenge is given to them. They are masterful knitters, having learned at a very early age, and love working in Alpaca yarn.

The children, who live in the jail with their mothers, watch their mothers work upon their return from school. These children love their mothers and enjoy seeing them involved in work that brings them peace and stillness.

Many of the women have shared with me their gratitude for the work provided, they say knitting keeps their minds busy and distracted from negative thoughts. I know in my heart, that it is their Authentic Self bringing forward moments of stillness through knitting that they are tapping into, allowing for greater peace, stillness and healing.

These indigenous women have strong spirits, and are very receptive to love and appreciation. They await our time together, not just because of the fair wages provided, but because they appreciate the values and integrity embedded in Knitting Peace, which holds a space for healing and a loving recognition that we are all divine beings having a human (in some cases incarcerated) experience.

This heartfelt business has grown tremendously in its first year, having already been chosen amongst hundreds of applicants to participate in the holiday gift fair Unique LA, the largest independent design gift fair on the West Coast, which took place this past weekend.

We owe our success to the support and light shared by you, as well as the many teachers who have gone beyond my wildest dreams in promoting our work.

During this season of giving and sharing, I would like to share with you an opportunity to continue to support these strong spirited indigenous women and their children, by offering you extra savings on all of our products, which make perfect gifts as each piece is unique and full of gratitude and love.
