The Dog House Inn of Gilroy will be hosting an Adoption Day for ACGSR,
Inc. Come by to check out the many wonderful dogs who are still awaiting their new forever homes, including Champ, a handsome 3 y.o. Irish Wolfhound mix. Available dogs (and cats, too!) can be previewed by visiting our Petfinder listings. Hope to see you there!

Some of the fun activities include a pet costume contest, bobbing for wieners and a musical "sit!" competition.

Fundraising opportunities include a silent auction, raffle drawing and, of course, the 5K dog walk--bring all your dogs as they can walk for free!
There is a $25 entry fee for each human walker, and $60 per family entry for up to 4 members. (Day of Walk fees will be $30.00/person, $75.00/family). $5 of each entry will go directly to the rescue identified on your registration form. Each canine participant will receive a goody bag full of treats. Each paid human participant will receive “Fall Furry Flurry” T-shirt.
Human walkers can collect monetary pledges for any or all of the 19 participating rescue groups -- 100% of your pledge goes to your designated rescue(s). Two volunteers, Nikki and Ananda, will be walking on behalf of ACGSR with two of our adoptable dogs. To make a tax-deductible pledge for ACGSR, please email Nikki before October 18th. Pledge checks should be made out to "ACGSR, Inc." All pledges must be collected by the walkers and turned in to PAWS4SJACS no later than November 2, 2009.
ACGSR will have a booth at the event so be sure to stop by!

Thanks to your votes, ACGSR, Inc. has climbed steadily in The Animal Rescue Site's $100,000 Shelter Challenge -- from #3,880 (nationally) and #302 (state), all the way up to #1,041 (nationally) and #76 (state) (rankings as of Friday, October 3rd). That's a huge leap in such a short time, but we are still a long way from the top. So keep voting, and vote every day!

ACGSR’s passion is to save companion animals and find them loving, life-long homes. All donations go to the care of the animals that we take in.
