Howdy Cuties!! After a couple months of hibernating YAY! is back in action! First off, the highly anticipated follow up from CATWALK, "Past Afar" (YAY!07), will be available this Saturday, June 14. The record release show will be at Buffalo Records in Ventura with fellow YAY! groups THE TARTANS and PAM & TERI, along with special guest, SWAY.
Also available this month will be the debut release from THE TARTANS, "Cats Of Camerford" (YAY!06)!! If you have not heard this super quartet, check them out, IMMEDIATELY. You can order online at the new updated YAY! website: shop.yaylabel.com as well as a store or mail-order near you!
We are proud to announce the newest YAY! label-mates: WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS!!! Another sibling duo, they are based out of Santa Barbara, California. A harp, a ukulele, a gentle female voice, and a ton of preciousness! WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS will accompany the next YAY! Fanzine with a couple songs, as well as a future 7"
Along with the YAY! releases coming out this Summer YAY! Records will also be part of this year's SUMMERSHINE POP FESTIVAL! The festival will take place Saturday July 5th in Ventura. This is the second year for the festival; THE TYDE headlined last year. This year we will have a very special guest, all the way from the UK: Phil Wilson!!! Some of you may know him from THE JUNE BRIDES, but he also released couple FABULOUS singles on the legendary CREATION RECORDS as well as a single on the near-legendary CAFF CORPORATION. He's making music again, SUMMERSHINE is honored to have him be perform at this year's festival.
