Cashing in your precious metal/Jewelry services
I am still accepting your gold, silver or platinum jewelry that you may wish to turn into cash; it is better to do it sooner rather than later...well, when you do it is a gamble!    At the time of writing, gold is about $1572 per oz., down almost $100 from last month's newsletter; silver is hovering around $29, down $3;  platinum is down $150 to $1396. I am willing and able to help you deal with your excess, unworn, out of style jewelry that you just don't have anything better to do with!

How it works: I use a reputable refining service and  charge 10% of your cash return or $25, which ever is greater. I am only offering this to readers of this newsletter and their referrals (there is a thank you gift for the person who refers you!).  Call me if you would like more information. Here is a link to the refiners for your information here.

Remember, if you refer clients, you will be rewarded with a generous gift card as a 'thank you'.

Jewelry services
If your precious metal jewelry is in need of a clean up, please bring it by. If its just a ring or two, there is no charge but if there is serious tarnish and you have several pieces, I will charge a minimum of $25.  For serious cleaning, ie, deep scratches, I will have to give you an estimate. I repair and clean jewelry made by me for free! (but not replacement parts). And yes, I will repair sterling silver jewelry; restringing with knotting for pearls or any other beads is $3 per inch; simple stringing is $2 per inch; repair and consultation visits (for help with your jewelry making, estate jewelry queries, etc) start at $25 (or a commission is taken on the sale, which ever is the result of the visit) and all estimates are free!

Don't do it!  Call Kim before considering the local pawn shop or some other establishment.  I will explain everything to you and give you a refining statement.  You will get 98% on your gold and 90% on platinum and silver.  Less my modest 10% commission, my rate of return is hard to beat.  You may have to wait a bit but its worth it!

Call me at 720-203-3575 for an appointment. References are available on request.

The workshop is buzzing  with finishing pieces for the holidays and packing up work for the Denver Art Museum. From December 20th, they will have a range of work including some new pieces that debuted at the Open Studio in early December.
You are always welcome to visit me in the studio to see what is 'hot off the bench' as I like to say!  One of my clients recently asked if I like doing commission work and I replied that it is one of my favorite things to do.  Working with clients to help create a signature piece that will be cherished for a long time is the greatest gift an artist can give.
Finally, I  am committed to putting up a new website that will launch in Spring 2012, just in time for my 20th anniversary!  I announced in last month's newsletter that I will be making 20 exclusive pieces to honor my 20 years 'in the biz' in 2012.  Look out for more information as I get going on the project. In the meantime, you can watch this fun video that human creative, my web and graphic designer made.Check it out here (its only a minute long).
A reminder about my hours for December: I will be open on Saturday, Christmas Eve, until about 3pm. The studio will be closed from December 25 through the 31st. Regular Saturday openings will resume January 7, 2012 but I will take appointments anytime after the 31st. @jewelry bar will take a break for January and February but will return March 17th!  However, if you are desperate, give me a call and I am sure we can arrange a private session!

I wish you a glorious and safe holiday season/happy new year and I thank you for reading and continuing to support my studio!
with love
