Jules Verne Program:
French teachers in your school!
The Jules Verne program is an exciting teaching initiative sponsored by the French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services at the French Embassy.
Created in the spirit of the European Erasmus program which promotes cross-cultural exchanges for students of varying nationalities, the Jules Verne program allows fully
trained and certified elementary and secondary school teachers from France to live and teach in the US for a full school year, immersing themselves in the culture, language and civilization of the host country. More information

Nuit Blanche à Paris!
This year, the Consulate of France in Houston offers a trip to Paris on the occasion of La Nuit Blanche from September 28 to October 3, 2010 in Paris.
The grant covers all costs (activities, accommodation, meals, airfare...).

Bernar Venet : Teacher’s workshop
The Texan-French Alliance for the Arts invites you to explore the arts and imagination in education!
A set of Professional Development workshops for HISD teachers, part of the education outreach program of the Bernar Venet Public Exhibition.
These workshops will help you discover new ideas, invigorate your practice through the lens of inquiry and creativity, and provide you with rigorous, standards-based strategies to help your students become critical thinkers, and creatively engaged learners.

Opening reception on March 26th, from 5:30 to 9:00 pm at daniel-kayne's studio (2300 McKinney, studio #403).
The Texan-French Alliance for the Arts (TFAA) presents the exhibition of French sculptor Véronique Chalandar’s work at artist daniel-kayne’s Houston studio as a part of the French Cultures Festival.
UHD French Film Festival
UHD will screen three critically-acclaimed contemporary French films on three consecutive evenings:
Serge Bozon's First World War epic La France will be shown Wednesday evening, March 24.
On the schedule for Thursday evening, March 25, is Joël Farges's Serko.
Benoît Cohen's Qui m'aime me suive (If you love me, follow me) will be shown on Friday evening, March 26.
All screenings will begin at 7:00 pm and are in French with English subtitles.
All are open to the public and free of charge.
