A new symbol for Europe deadline 1 March 2010
The current European flag was designed in 1955. Since then Europe has changed. We invite designers to send in their design for a new symbol for Europe.12 submissions will be selected by an international jury and printed on flags. These will be shown during Design and Government 2010 in Den Haag and Berlin. Read more

Keynote lecture and workshop at Zeche Zollverein 24 November 2009, Essen, Germany
At the conference 'Creative industries - made by design' in Essen, Ed Annink held a lecture on Design and Government and guided a workshop entitled 'standardisation and identity'. The lecture and workshop were filmed and will be available soon on our website. Read more

A project by Design Den Haag
European Bench in cooperation with The Hague University
Students in the Bachelor Industrial Design Engineering, have travelled to Berlin to think about public meetingplaces with a European identity. They did this together with designer Jerszey Seymour. During one semester the students will work on this project. Read more

A project by Design Den Haag
Workshop 'Unity and/or diversity for Europe' completed
in cooperation with VIDE
During one week 14 students from various European countries have developed concepts concerning the visual identity of Europe. The week ended with a presentation, in the audience was Ludolf van Hasselt, head of the European Commission in the Netherlands. The results of the workshop will be presented during Design and Government 2010. Read more

Start research project in Berlin
13 - 16 December 2009, Berlin
Design Den Haag supports the visit of the 'Stadsridders Den Haag' (city knights Den Haag) to Berlin to research the project ExRotaprint; a working place for creative people in an old engine factory, created and developed by artists and designers, without interference by the government. Read more
