Cost: $295
Find out more about this workshop and view itinerary...
This month is your chance to learn how to optimize your photographs during an in-depth weekend workshop. Led by self-described photo geek Jeff Kida and computer nerd Rick Burress, this class covers digital photography in a way that will make your images stand out.
Addressing five different photo types – scenic, close-up, portrait, low-light and high-contrast light – Jeff will cover the aesthetics of creating compelling images. Then, Rick will explain how Photoshop can help enhance your images. Participants will use their new-found skills to shoot in the field at Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix.
This workshop includes discussion and critique sessions, as well as admission to the gardens and lunch both days. As this workshop sells out, we will schedule another opportunity to attend in August.
Spend two days with us and you'll come away with the skills and photos to prove it! Register today.

Photography Tip
Excerpted from
Arizona Highways Photography Guide: How & Where to Make Great Photographs
The trails and trail-less backcountry between rim and river offer access to a world wildly different from that of the Rim and the river. This canyon world, however, is more difficult to photograph than the others. It has neither the intimacy of the river corridor nor the drama of the high overlooks.
One section of inner Grand Canyon, however, offers an almost unlimited and unexploited potential. It’s the Esplanade, the broad platform developed on the surface of the Supai sandstones in central and western Grand Canyon. The Esplanade’s wildly eroded sandstone terrain offers a great mix of knobs, hollows, water pockets, and slickrock platforms, all stained orange and red. But difficulty of access is still a demoralizing obstacle.
There are a few trails and routes in the Thunder River and Kanab Canyon area. And the Toroweap Overlook road allows some access to the Esplanade. But most of this enchanting part of Grand Canyon is far, far away, forever available only to the most determined and physically fit photographers.
