Biodiesel made from our recycled cooking oil has helped to significantly reduce the amount of global warming gases in the atomosphere and has made the air we breathe less toxic.
In 2009, TSB has achieved the following milestones:
- TSB biodiesel has displaced over 15 million pounds of carbon dioxide: the equivalent of taking almost 1,400 vehicles off the road!
- TSB cooking oil has produced over 860,000 gallons of pure biodiesel: enough fuel a fleet of nearly 4,700 mid-sized cars on a trip around the earth!
- TSB's oil recycling system has produced over 120 billion BTU of energy: enough to power nearly 1,200 average-sized households for an entire year!
- TSB has added over 550 new customers our growing network of environmentally conscious restaurant owners - each playing a pivotal role in the realization of a sustainable NYC
- In September, TSB expanded operations into Connecticut, and is now actively providing used cooking oil collection service to over 600 restaurants statewide
- In October, TSB's own CEO Brent Baker was awarded the Social Venture Network's (SVN) prestigious Innovation Award for maintaining "triple bottom line" principals at Tri-State Biodiesel
