After working hard the last couple of months in establishing a new name in the clean energy business, Djadadji would like to share with you, our friends, readers and sustainable energy supporters some of the first results. We thought you would appreciate receiving our opening number as we have been in touch with you, either as Djadadji or, in the past, as Ecofys Bulgaria. We hope you will enjoy this and subsequent newsletters. If not: do unsubscribe below, no hard feelings. Give us your feedback, ideas and hints for partnering and to work on clean energy, here in Bulgaria and around the globe.
Sincerely Yours,
Arjan Visser

For some years now, our team has been working on the Staccato project, bringing people, ideas and funding together to realize the renovation of 400 apartments and decrease the carbon load of these buildings. In the district of Oborishte, Sofia, three blocks were selected (50 apartments) to be renovated in 2010 as a pilot, with one block on the waiting list.

|
 |
The blocks will receive funding from the National Renovation Programme, the owners and the EC and have all undergone energy audits, which were recently updated. A technical assessment is being finalized to include solar thermal systems on the rooftops. Results will be shared during an international conference in Budapest, June 28/29, after which we plan for the next stage.
RE-SHAPING: Renewable energy policy in the European Union
We have worked on a European project for the European Commission. The main objective of the project is to assist EU Member States in preparing for the implementation of Directive 2009/28/EC and to guide a European policy for RES in the mid- to long term. Djadadji has contributed by evaluating the current RES policy framework for Bulgaria and create recommendations to improve future RES support schemes.
Eventually, better integration of RES policies with climate and innovation policy as well as liberalised energy markets will be analysed and promoted. Options for flexibility between Member States will be analysed, for which Bulgaria has a good position as ‘provider’ of green energy capacity.
Contact Djadadji to receive the intermediary report and the country profile on RES policy for all EU member states.

An online map indicating all existing wind energy turbines and wind farms under development in Bulgaria was launched May 4. It is the result of in-depth research of the market for wind energy in Bulgaria by Djadadji.
|
We felt that it was time to bring all this information together and show in detail the developments of this sector, which has quickly emerged in the last full years and has led to substantial interest from foreign investors and utilities. The map and underlying database should trigger interest from researchers, local land and project owners and investors alike, who can save themselves a lot of time with this detailed overview, which also include production figures.
And as one thing often leads to another soon afer the launch Djadadji started offering brand new and second hand wind turbines. For all the up-to-date offers check out the link Buy Turbines on:www.windfarmsbulgaria.com
We keep our Eyes and Ears open for you!
Constant updates on developments in the clean energy arena of Bulgaria (positive and negative) are available on our blog (Djadadji.blogspot.com)
Some recent examples:
* Surprising for some and expected by others, Bulgaria lost although temporaily its right to trade in GHG emission rights.
* The Bulgarian Renewable Energy Action Plan as well as fresh changes in the RAESBA (Renewable and Alternative Energy and Biofuels Act) are to be approved and released by the working groups and the government in the coming months.
* All diesel engines in Bulgaria are required to have a greener diet since May 1, 2010: Bulgarian operators need to mix in 2% of biodiesel, which will increase to 4% in 2011. Petrol is next "in the pipeline" to be mixed with bio-ethanol.
We keep on sharing this kind of information on our blog. As they say, stay tuned!
