Cashing in your precious metal/Other jewelry services
If you have some gold, silver or platinum jewelry that you would like to turn into cash, it is better to do it sooner rather than later...well, when you do it is a gamble! At the time of writing, gold is about $1767 per oz., up over $100 from last month's newsletter; silver is hovering around $33; platinum has gone up $120 to $1624.
How it works: I use a reputable refining service and charge 10% of your cash return or $25, which ever is greater. I am only offering this to readers of this newsletter and their referrals (there is a thank you gift for the person who refers you!). Call me if you would like more information. Here is a link to the refiners for your information here. Please be aware that you will get 75%, and more likely less, of the value of your gold metal with OTHER vendors - less with silver and platinum - (unless you can access the refiners directly yourself); with me, you will get 88% for gold. So, clean out your jewelry boxes and turn it in for some fun cash for the holidays!
Remember, if you refer clients, you will be rewarded with a generous gift card as a 'thank you'.

Don't do it! Call Kim before considering the local pawn shop or some other establishment. I will explain everything to you and give you a refining statement. You will get 98% on your gold and 90% on platinum and silver. Less my modest 10% commission, my rate of return is hard to beat. You may have to wait a bit but its worth it!
Call me at 720-203-3575 for an appointment. References are available on request.
Other jewelry services
If your precious metal jewelry is in need of a clean up, please bring it by. If its just a ring or two, there is no charge but if there is serious tarnish and you have several pieces, I will charge a minimum of $25. For serious cleaning, ie, deep scratches, I will have to give you an estimate. I repair and clean jewelry made by me for free! (but not replacement parts).
And yes, I will repair sterling silver jewelry; restringing of knotted pearls is $3 per inch; $2 for other beads without knotting; repair and 1/2 hour consultation visits (for help with your jewelry making, estate jewelry queries, etc) start at $25 (or a commission is taken on the sale, which ever is greater) and all estimates are free!

The date is confirmed for the Open Studio Sale, December 3, from 2-6pm and December 4, from 12-4pm. All readers of this newsletter and their guests will receive 10% off all jewelry by Kim only. Other artists showing work will be Phyllis Rider with prints/paintings and two favorites from the gallery days: Lynda Ladwig - ceramics and Theresa Anderson with her drawings. My husband David, will also show his political prints that are a reasonable $20 and up; my daughters have some sock creations they have produced that will also be for sale. Lets not forget the homemade goodies, high end snacks and libations for all who attend! Don't miss it!
The Denver Art Museum in the Hamilton Building shop continues to carry my work including some old favorites such as the porcelain work that I make with Lynda Ladwig. I will not be at the members sale, December 5th, so be sure to come visit me at the Open Studio (see above) this year!
I have commissioned a designer to help with a new website that I plan to launch in the Spring. I decided to establish an etsy.com website so you can shop for my basic designs and a few exclusive ones, also available by the Spring. In the meantime, you can watch this fun video that human creative made; they will be the ones who create my website.Check it out here (its only a minute long).
2012 will mark 20 years that I have been officially working in my profession. I can't believe it. To honor this significant benchmark (ha!) in my career, I will make 20 unique and numbered pieces over the course of the year. I will alert you of their completion here and on the website. They will be special. They will be personal. I can't wait!
I thank you for reading and look forward to seeing you soon!
with love
