"The Woodmans" Film Soundtrack

Cantaloupe Music has just released the soundtrack for the documentary film The Woodmans, featuring music by David Lang performed by So Percussion. The film is about a haunted, precociously brilliant young artist and her complicated artistic family. The Woodmans is available in digital format at Amazon, Cantaloupe Music, and iTunes.

World Premieres and Tour with the Calder Quartet

On Sunday, November 13, So will join forces with the Calder Quartet at 285 Kent in Brooklyn for the New York premieres of new works by Tristan Perich and Daniel Wohl. The night will also include performances by Andrew W.K., Skeletons, and Diamond Terrifier.

Amid the Noise

Here's some free music - Eric Beach's remix of "September" from our third album amid the noise.

Later this year, we'll be releasing remixes of the entire album. Volume One of the published score has just hit the presses, and will be available soon through Good Child Music.

So Percussion + Shen Wei Dance Arts
at the Park Avenue Armory

November 29 - December 4

Shen Wei (leading choreographer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics) has commissioned So Percussion to compose music for a massive new work to be premiered at the Park Avenue Armory at the end of November. This new work is part of Shen Wei Dance Arts' 2011 home season at the Armory.

December Shows

We have two performances in December that we are really excited about:

First, we join trumpeter Dave Douglas on December 9th at the The Jazz Standard for one night to play tunes from our recent release Bad Mango on Greenleaf Music.

Next, we'll be opening for the amazing band The National on December 14th at the The Beacon Theater.
