 Birthstone for May is:   Emerald.
  Cashing in your precious metal
If you have some gold, silver or platinum jewelry and you would like to turn it into cash, it is better to do it sooner rather than later.  Gold peeked in early May at about $1,504 per oz. and is now at $1,496 at the time of writing.  Silver is at $35 and platinum at $1,778.  Things are holding pretty steady but continue to be unpredictable.   Most predictions say that gold will continue to correct its self and the value will go down this summer.

I use a reputable refining service and will charge 10% of your cash return or $25, which ever is greater. I am only offering this to readers of this newsletter and their referrals (there is a thank you gift for the person who refers you!).  Call me if you would like more information. Here is a link to the refiners for your information here. Please be aware that you will get 80% or less of the value of your gold metal with most other vendors (unless you can access the refiners directly yourself); with me, you will get 88%.

I also offer cleaning and repair services.  All estimates are free.

Don't do it!  Call Kim before considering the local pawn shop or some other establishment.  I will explain everything to you and give you a refining statment.  You will get 98% on your gold and 90% on platinum and silver.  Less my modest 10% commission, my rate of return is hard to beat.  You may have to wait a bit but its worth it!

I recently finished the triple ring wedding set with colored diamonds, topaz and tourmaline.  Visit the website at www.eastendarts.com and see the 'announcements & exhibitions' page to learn more about it and see a picture.
The Denver Art Museum in the Hamilton Building shop continues to carry my most recent work.  You are also welcome to visit me in the studio to see what is 'hot off the bench' as I like to say!  I adore doing commissions and encourage you to explore this if you have never commissioned a piece before.  I can work to most budgets even with the cost of metals as they are these days.  It forces me to be creative.  It is also one of the reasons for my interest in alternative materials such as hemp, rubber, steel and buttons!
Finally, the studio will be closed the last week in May (23-30). If you are taking a holdiay,  have a safe journey.  I look forward to hearing from you soon and I thank you for reading!

with love
