Rubber components
Hamitherm offers a number of accessories for both the standard and miniature connector range that are manufactured in different types of rubber.
We have redesigned all these products and we will be manufacturing these in the future in silicon rubber. This will ensure maximum flexibility of the product and at the same time bring the temperature rating of these accessories in line with the
temperature rating of 200 °C of our connectors. Also in a lot of applications silicon rubber is preferred over neoprene or natural rubber.
Although silicon rubber is a higher specification material that is normally sold at a premium price, we will maintain our present price level.
Protection Boot
The silicon rubber that is now being used for these boots, will ensure a proper protection of the connector pair against moisture and dirt ingression also at higher temperature.
This will replace the natural rubber that is still being used extensively.
As a further product improvement this boot will be manufactured in a transparent version so that the color of the connector pair can still be seen through the boot.
Grommet The grommet is the most commonly used rubber accessory. Especially for this product we are glad that we can supply these components in silicon rubber instead of the most commonly used neoprene.
Furthermore we have decided to change the form of the grommet, so that it is in line now with the outside of the entrance hole of the connector. This will further improve the esthetics of the connector and the sensor it is mounted on.
Bending protection
Especially for thin gauge wires it is wise to fit a bending protection to prevent mechanical damage of the thin wires immediately at the entrance point of the connector. The shape has been redesigned to facilitate easy mounting of the component. In view of the spectacular increase in sales of these products, we have been able to reduce our sales price substantially.
